We decided to go whale watching for the first time, thanks to discount tickets from Goldstar. Unfortunately, Ray got sick, but I went ahead by myself because we couldn't get a refund or change the dates.
It was pretty amazing just to be out on the ocean. So beautiful -- and very humbling. Even though we only saw one whale, we were surrounded by schools of dolphins. They were so close to the boat that we could almost touch them. They're gorgeous, playful, elegant creatures, especially up close.

The first half of the trip was absolutely thrilling. The second half involved getting very intimate with the toilet. Next time, Dramamine.
