Again, craving dessert, I scrounged around to see what to make. The only thing that had any semblance of sweetness was a partial bag of chocolate chips. While I could normally pop a handful or three and be done with it, I really wanted something warm. So, I thought to myself, if you can make a grilled cheese sandwich, could you make a grilled chocolate one? The answer is a resounding YES!
All we had was multigrain bread, so I placed one slice in a cast-iron skillet. Then I liberally sprinkled on chocolate chips, topped it with another slice, and turned the flame on low so the bread wouldn't burn before the chocolate chips melted -- flipping it a few times.
Oh my. It was surprisingly delicious. Slices of a country batard or baguette would probably be much more delicious, but this sure hit the spot in a pinch. Hope you try and enjoy one or three. (Photo with iPhone)
