Her recipe is lovely, but I didn't have everything that the recipe called for (and was too lazy to go to the store), so I had to improvise:
- frozen Trader Joe's pie crust
- frozen (slightly thawed) mixed berries and blueberries
- no lemon, butter, egg or sugar (for the sparkly crust)
- flour (instead of cornstarch)
- powdered sugar instead of granulated (that's all I had, sadly)
Despite the liberal modifications, it really turned out quite delicious. It's worth regularly keeping a frozen pie crust and frozen berries on hand for a pretty quick, delicious dessert.
